SCOTT HVEEM OBIT:
Scott Ashley Hveem, 71, was born 21Feb51 in Inglewood, CA in Los Angeles County. He died in Phoenix, AZ 4Oct22, following health issues. Scott grew up in Prescott, AZ and Phoenix, AZ.
Following his discharge from his military service in the Air Force, Scott returned to Phoenix. He was a proud member of the Freemasons Masonic White River Lodge No 62. A hard worker, no matter what job or task was before him, Scott helped friends and neighbors wherever he lived. Never asking for more than a simple thank you. He became an active advocate in the Homestead Neighborhood in Phoenix being declared an Arizona Historical District.
Scott was a private person, never bragging about his accomplishments. Possessions were not as important as family and friends. With a sense of humor that was sometimes slightly off-center, he was occasionally outspoken and always honest. He pulled his weight, always doing more than his share. Those who knew him were blessed to call him a friend.
He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Jeanne, and survived by his partner, Carol Thomason, 4 siblings: Karen Hansen, Jon Hveem, Holly Ryan and Richard Hveem and 13 nephews and nieces: Amber Hansen, Alexis Hansen, Eric Ryan, Ashley Hveemryan, Arne Hveemryan, Honey (Hveemryan) Hanewinckel, Abram Ryan, Christian Ryan, RJ Hveem, Brittany Hveem, Ashley (Hveem) Anderson, Rachel (Hveem) Petricca, and Audrey Hveem. 6 great nephews and 10 great nieces.
Military honors will be Oct 20, 2023 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 10:30 AM
Scott and I welded our friendship from Elementary School when we joined the Lafayette scout troop, After years hiking and camping throughout northern AZ, we finished scouting during our senior year at CHS, when we led most of our troop for a week backpack trip to the bottom of Havasupai Canyon. A couple of years later, in 1972, Mike Currie and I drove in Mike's car to visit Scott who was in training at Buckley AFB in Denver. We were quick to relive "Vitamin Brother's" glory -- we had a blast.**
Everytime I returned to Phoenix, Scott and I would climb to a spot on Squaw Peak and solve the world's problems. Our climbing heights were slowly reduced so, by the time of our 50th in Oct 2019, we settled for a bench near the park entrance to to pronouce our findings.
Blue Skies and fair tail winds, dear friend, I will see you next week 20 Oct 2023 when we return your cremanes to the earth at the National Memorial Cemetery AZ.

** We were named "the vitamin brothers" by the CHS crosscountry coach because we looked like 3 lanky bean poles. Mike and I were stationed near Colorado Springs in the military - Mike was in the Army at Ft Carson and I was at the AF Academy). Incidentally, Mike and I were the only visitors to meet his new wife, a 1971 CHS Graduate, as they were divorced a few weeks later. He never married again.

Would love to hear your 1968 Russian stories, Dan. We may try to get a horseback ride to the TBone restaurant Oct 2020. May have to wait for a vaccine in 2021. Either way, would love to get together.
What industrial museum in BOS? Hope it reopens.
Hi Stalker! How's everything going?

Confused by mother time was NOT good to her???? Seems like she was a mother extraordinaire superlative.
Milt's death hit me hard - we have been friends since Lafayette. Russel is right about the flag. He went to AF pilot training about the same time I did, but decided he wanted to pursue computers and separated within a couple of years.
Since EIGHT YEARS OLD?!!?!? Obviously our Lord has wanted you around. I do not know that history but I am very anxious to hear your stories. So glad Larry is coming too.
Danny, the four folks you mentioned: CD, LK, TV, and DR are all coming. As the Emcee of our 10th, there is a seat reserved for you. Stalker Reed c: 404.519.9169
Wish I had set up a tour of Normandy instead of my Russia river cruise this year. Available to lead an ol' Lafayette bud in 2021??
Does this profile mean you are about to register for our last CHS hurrah? Hope so.

Legal secretary and petroleum engineer to hoteliers to mayor and artist. Imagine there are a lot of stories there. Sorry to miss you at the 50th - will just have to come and visit.
