Rich passed away Oct. 3, 2023.  He was a very nice guy and a talented cartoonist.  Achieved his lifelong ambition to work for Disney Studios and eventually went on to other animation projects and underground comics.  See IMdB for his list of credits.

So sorry to hear this! Rich was an amazing artist. I always enjoyed his well-drawn cartoons in the Blade.

Rich was truly the funniest person I knew in high school.  In Freshman year Latin, he would draw wickedly funny caricatures of our teacher, Mr. Kuntz, which would have me in stitches and caused me to be sent to the principal's office more than once.  Sophomore year he made a little movie acting out Poe's "The Telltale Heart"--I wonder if any other classmates remember this.  What a blessing to have known him.

I sat next to Richie in 6th grade at Monte Vista and got to observe all his cartoon drawings throughout the year :- )   To this day I think back and laugh about the drawing and the caption on the Mother's Day poster contest that he won that year., His drawing was a gleeful kid riding a bike with no hands... and the caption read:..

"Ride in the gutter and please your Mutter" .  LOL

He was an incredibly gifted artist and a great guy !

Rich was truly a multi-talented guy. I remember him performing at an assembly, doing sound effects and impressions - he reminded me of Jonathan Winters. So good to hear he fulfilled his artistic drive with a rewarding career.
