Boyce was super friendly when I met him in Flagstaff at NAU in 1970 as a college housemate. A lifelong friend since then, he was persistently positive, always had an upbeat attitude with a contagious smile, and I have to add, a tendency to tease.
His lifelong love of the mountains led him to settle in Cherry in the mid 70's and he's still there. RIP
Boyce was a kind and gentle person with a personality larger than life. All of my adventures with him were very memorable to say the least. I’m guessing he has his orange VW bug with loud pipes roaring down the streets of heaven.
